Caring for Crows Nest families since 1978

  • Are you accepting new patients?

Yes — individuals and whole families. Book online or call us. Please arrive 15 minutes before your first appointment to complete a short medical and dental history, or fill the form in online beforehand to save time.

  • I have toothache today — can I be seen?

All of our dentists set aside time on every working day specifically for emergencies, so you can usually be seen quickly. Call us as early in the day as you can and describe the pain — we’ll triage it over the phone.

  • Where exactly are you, and how do I get there?

We’re on Level 1 at 60–62 Willoughby Road, Crows Nest NSW 2065. Getting here is easy:

    • Metro: a 3-minute walk from Crows Nest Metro Station via the Clarke Street exit.
    • Train: a 5 to 10-minute walk from St Leonards Station.
    • Bus: multiple routes run along the nearby Pacific Highway.
    • Car and parking: metered street parking is available nearby, plus 2 hours free council parking a short walk away at Alexander Street Car Park (above Woolworths) or Holtermann Street Car Park (near Clarke Street).
  • What does teeth straightening cost?

It depends on how much movement your teeth need, so every case is quoted individually. We’re happy to offer a free 5-minute consultation to give you a general estimate, and we always provide a full, transparent price in writing before any treatment begins.

  • What age should my child first see a dentist?

Around their first birthday, or when the first teeth appear — early visits are short, friendly and mostly about getting comfortable in the chair. From about age six we can also assess whether MYOBrace could guide crooked teeth straight while your child is still growing.

  • How often should I have a check-up?

Every six months for most patients, so small problems are caught while they are still simple and inexpensive to fix. If you notice swelling, pain or bleeding before then, don’t wait for your next scheduled visit — call us and we’ll see you sooner.

  • My gums bleed when I brush — is that normal?

It shouldn’t be ignored. Bleeding is most often a sign of plaque build-up along the gumline, and can be an early sign of gum disease if it continues. It usually responds well to a proper clean and some changes to your brushing and flossing — book a visit and we’ll take a look.

  • Do you accept Medicare and health fund rebates?

Yes, we offer on-the-spot claiming via HICAPS for most private health funds — you only pay the gap. Standard Medicare doesn’t cover dental treatment, but your child may still receive free dental care if they meet either of the following:

    • CDBS — eligible children aged 0–17 can access free basic dental services under the government’s Child Dental Benefits Schedule.
    • NSW Dental Vouchers — we accept vouchers issued by public dental clinics and the NSW Dental Hospital.
  • What happens at my child’s first visit?

Nothing rushed, and nothing frightening. We use simple words, let your child look at the instruments first, and keep things light — a cartoon playing is often enough distraction for a first check and clean. Bringing them along to your own appointment beforehand, so the room feels familiar, helps too.
